Amigos, we’ve pushed a few small changes to the site this evening. It was evident folks were a bit confused about how we handled loan status. We’ve created a new loan status “closed” (before tonight we treated “approved” as “closed”). We realized that was misleading as approved doesn’t necessarily mean the loan is closed. On page four of our mortgage application form you’ll see the following question: Is it approved & closed (pending if not done)?
- Pending
- Yes
- Denied
This could make some of the data a bit wonky. We apologize. We’re going to go punish ourselves by eating chocolate mochi and enchiladas.
By the way, did anyone see tonight’s 60 Minutes on option ARM loans? The wonderfully bearish data look familiar? If it did that’s because we published the same datat some two weeks ago. Gosh,we’re over the moon that Andy Rooney reads the blog. We’re going to go call our Mom.
